Thoughts about the week of fixing Gvura (strength) in our soul
Hod shebegvura.(humbleness with power)
There are different powers behind our actions.
The power of this week is strength.
some times we have to go with love and kindness. sometimes we have to walk with strength and power.
This week is strength and power. and the specific power of the day is Hod (special great humbleness). but not the kind of humility “that I’m a nothing”.
A person has to remember two things his all life.
Or the way king David used to say , have two notes in his pockets. one in each pocket. one note should say: “I’m Nothing but a worm”. The other note should say ” the all world was created for me”.
Humbleness is not, I don’t deserve anything. Humbleness is I dont know what i deserve, and yet i know I’m great because I’m G-D’s creation. G-d wants me to be assertive in my praying.
I don’t put in time thinking how great I’m, That’s hod.
Then comes in the Gvura (strength, power). I have to come and ask G-D for everything, not not basing on my good deeds or personal reasons and ego. I have to ask hashem because hashem is waiting for me to ask him, and when I ask for my self it should remind me of the needs of the world. and that i was put in this world, with my particular, set of emotions and mentality and positive or negative thoughts and feelings, in order to see things in the world which only i can pray for.
We learn this from our father Abraham. He prayed for Sdom.
It doesn’t matter that Sdom was destroyed. but someone had to pray for them , to give them a chance to repent. and it says if Abraham did not listen to the angels and did not host them, he would have not heard that he will have a son. Meaning our answers are being answered through hearing the prayers of other people and more so of Hashem himself.
It says: “Hashem had made lacks in the world for us to fill them up with our prayers”.
We are G-D’s partners on fixing the world. We are his hands and feet to do his work in the world and to pray it down.
Each one of us has to walk in the path which our fore fathers built, but we also have a duty to build a new road. our soul came down to the world with a special mission. in order to fulfill that mission we need lots of strength and power. it doesn’t come down from talking to a wise man who will tell me, that is it.
I will only do it with lots of strength and power and tears. I will only do it when i will feel this power pushing, that , there is no other way. I have to do it.
May we all be blessed to know what that mission is and have the wisdom of praying in humble strength (hod shebegvura) and use the strength of the day to go forward with it. but also take this power into the actions and prayers of the all year.
May we all have a powerful day.
